The worst poker room managers decision

I was playing at MK Casino and had 4700 chips already in the pot. We were heads up, the person in front of me bets 3000, I told him that I only have 600 left and calls.

He then chucks his cards, not into the middle of the table but, straight to the right of him into the muck. Suddenly he realises that I had called and retrieves his cards from the muck.

I had a 9 for the straight, he had an ‘Ace’ for the straight; BUT in my eyes, he had mucked his cards so the pot was mine, in the managers eyes it was his because of his ‘Ace’.

It didn’t matter how much I argued that he had mucked his cards and that he wasn’t paying attention to my move; I lost.
