The sun is shining the outside temperature is not too good only 6/7°. Kath has already done 2-3 washings and have hung them all out. As she was out Coco decided to venture out and explorer the garden.
Thursday last; I was having lunch with 2 of my cousins at The Plough in Cadsden, Cadsden Road, Princes Risborough. I saw Susan nearly 2 years ago and as for Sonja that’s at least 10 years ago.
We had a lovely lunch and it was nice to re-connect with them.
The weather wasn’t encouraging a walk in the forest.
I have never seen the poker-room as busy as last night. There was even a waiting list to re-enter even though the entry fee was £55. As you can see from the photo there were in total 120 players (incl. approx..20 re-entries). I managed to survive till ‘in-the-money’ where there were only 2 MK players left. I didn’t have a lot of chips only about 60,000 but ended up as number 11 and got my money and a bit back; was home by 2:45am.
After collecting an online order, I went to my favourite Chinese restaurant Mii&U and had a big bowl of Korean Soup.
When paying I asked if I could take a fortune cookie – Picked a red one; but it was attached to a green one so I got two.
When I opened the red one there was two cookies inside; so now I’ve got three.
My Gardening Friend came today, not only did she cut the lawn, she also harvested the rest of my radishes, one of the giant garlics and all my Spanish onions. There were only 4 radishes left and sadly they had become woody.
Here is some pictures of my baby garlic
Plus this tray of Spanish sweet onions (I’ve already eaten 3 yum yum)
I have just had a great dinner/poker school evening with 2 friends. We were supposed to be 5 but one couple couldn’t make it.
Tonight’s menu was my signature dish of chicken legs and onions (cooked in a Dutch oven) with cauliflower-broccoli cheese (not yet published), potato wedges, my raw carrot salad and a nice bottle of Merlot; followed by freshly made decaf coffee.
It was obviously my turn to win; at the end I had 3½ times the starting chips. The last two times we were playing I was in the red.
Last night was girls night out. It all started because I got a text from Towcester Racecourse offering me:
a free race card, a free £2 bet and a free pint of Carling Beer.
Four of us went to the dogs at Towcester Racecourse and it was fun not only because of the races but its also fun to win.
As one can imagine the place was packed, it was after all Friday evening; and what a lovely ending to the week it was.
There was 14 races on the card; but we left after race 13, so that we could get away from the course without too much hassle.
Hilary wasn’t going to place any bets but I squeezed a runner out of her for nearly every race.
I kept account and took the stake from her winnings and at the end of the evening she was £8.75 up;
not bad for not opening your purse once! That in its own way was fun.
Twice her choice beat mine by the tip of a nose, grrrr; but I am not elaborating on my £30 plus winnings.
Sadly Tracey and Christine didn’t fare as well, but they still had a great evening out.
